The San Mateo County Arts Commission (SMCAC) has awarded EPACENTER a grant to support classes led by instructors who call East Palo Alto (EPA) home. The grant supports arts instruction led by EPA artists in art, ballet, ceramics, hip hop dance, guitar, drumming, and woodwinds. These classes are helping young people to continue developing their abilities to imagine and create positive change in demanding life situations. Robin Rodricks, Director of the San Mateo County Arts Commission, says that “the Commission believes that education in and through the arts encourages the development and use of imagination, creativity, and expression, and fosters innovation. We are proud to support the critical work of EPACENTER.” We are deeply grateful for the SMCAC’s support during this most challenging time.
